SPF Safety provides EPA-approved Lead-Based Paint training for contractors, maintenance staff, and professionals working in pre-1978 housing and child-occupied facilities. Our courses are designed to meet federal compliance requirements while emphasizing practical, real-world application. Participants gain the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to safely and responsibly work with lead-based paint.

This is a two-day course for individuals who perform lead abatement activities under the direction of a certified Lead Abatement Supervisor.
This course covers:
Role and responsibilities of an abatement worker.
Background information on lead and its adverse health effects.
Background information on Federal, State and local regulations and guidance that pertain to lead-based paint abatement.
Lead-based paint hazard recognition and control.
Lead-based paint abatement and lead-based paint hazard reduction methods, including restricted practices.
Interior dust abatement methods/cleanup or lead-based paint hazard reduction.
Soil and exterior dust abatement methods or lead-based paint hazard reduction.
Certification is valid for 3 years.

Designed for contractors and supervisors who perform or oversee renovation, repair, or painting activities in pre-1978 buildings.
